In this month of November, here in Madrid we're having the "Finlandmes", a month dedicated to the Finnish design from Alvaar Alto to Marimekko.
We all have already seen the famous minimalism from the suedes but know it is time to see what is going on with its neighbor. Actually, the finnish design is all around us (still think that Nokia is a Japanese brand?). Anyways, I'm talking about pretty and useful design.
Here you have some of the expos I'm planning to visit during the "Finlandmes", so if you're visiting Madrid this month, don't forget to check them out.
1-Helsinki-Madrid FinDesign - Central de Diseño, Matadero Madrid.
2-Marimekko: 10 Puntos de Vista - Museo del Traje.
3-Alvar Aalto a Nuestra Medida - Museo de Artes Decorativas.
4-Otto: Entre el Diseño y el Arte - Círculo de Bellas Artes.
5-Also, there are more expos in the Museo Colecciones ICO, Colegio Oficial de Arquitectos de Madrid, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and in the Instituto Europeo di Design.
I'll write more about all this Finnish revolution here in Madrid, but meanwhile, you should get familiarize with some of the designers:

Reima Pietlä (Architect):

Tapio Wirkkala (Designer):
